It was always my intention to have a wedding shoot on this long jetty in Auckland. I went there several times beforehand to check out the pictures I wanted to capture. The weather forecast was good, but when we arrived the wind developed into a storm. My assistant’s main task changed into ‘keeping the gear protected from the wind’, because on a jetty everything rolls directly into the water (as I desperately experienced). I could hardly give the bride and groom instructions, because the wind sucked up my words. But look at the incredible outcome: Philippa and Thomas just radiate peace and harmony. As it was too windy on the jetty, we moved on to the Domain to continue the shoot afterwards. Wow! Golden sunset and blue sky at dusk.
